One thing that your Raleigh movers, new next-door neighbors, and Raleigh co-workers all have in common is that they are fans of the Raleigh Flyers. And once you finish unpacking your moving boxes, you will be too.
Ultimate Frisbee is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, outranking lacrosse, rugby, track and field, and volleyball. Despite only having been around for four years, the American Ultimate Disc League has already grown to 26 franchises.
According to the Raleigh Flyers team captain, Noah Saul, “It’s an exciting, fun, fast-paced sport to watch. It’s got the flow of basketball, the running of soccer and some of the receiver patterns of football.”
Even though the players for the Raleigh Flyers were still paying to play a couple of years ago, they are now currently getting paid to play. Part of the reason for this is the number of fans, which includes everyone from long-time locals to your Raleigh movers, that come out to cheer on their hometown team.
Coach for the Raleigh Flyers, Mike Denardis, shares that, “On game day when they play in front of fans they feel the energy of the crowd. As the sport grows, we’ll always stay true to our roots and try to get new fans hooked on not only the game, but the integrity and spirit you will often see on display out on the field.”
The Raleigh Flyers hope to broaden their appeal by focusing on youth leagues, so have your kids get involved in this local pastime; once you finish getting settled into your new home with your Raleigh movers, join in the hour-long clinic that the team offers every game.
