Premiere Raleigh Moving Company – 919-875-1700

Get excited if you have recently made a move to Raleigh, North Carolina. You are in the perfect place to view the Geminid Meteor Shower that is expected to be an impressive sight this weekend. According to WRAL, Raleigh’s local news station, residents in Central North Carolina and southern Virginia have a good chance of seeing the meteor shower on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evenings.

The Geminid Meteor shower is said to be the strongest meteor shower of the year and lasts about two weeks in duration, the strongest of the shower falling on Sunday evening. This shower comes as a result of Earth passing through the trail of detritus that is left behind by 3200 Phaeton (a rocky object that orbits the sun). Earth passes through this trail once every year in December, giving Earthlings a grand spectacle.

All My Sons Moving & Storage of Raleigh has learned that this year may be better than others, as the shower will be accompanied by a crescent moon which will result in dark skies. A dark sky is perfect for watching meteor showers.

If you are planning on taking your family to watch the Geminid Meteor Shower, our local Raleigh moving company suggests getting away from the bright lights of the city to increase visibility. Once you are in a desirable spot, find a comfortable position and look up. It may take a few minutes, but you and your family are bound to see at least a few blazing meteors traveling through the Earth’s atmosphere no matter which direction you gaze.

In hopes of revitalizing Hillsborough Street, Raleigh restaurant executive Gary Bryant is planning to open a new restaurant within the walls of the old Varsity Theater. This new project is close to Bryant’s heart, as he is a graduate of N. C. State University where he worked as a student manager for the school’s basketball team.

Just as All My Sons’ Raleigh movers remember, Bryant is reminiscent of a time when the hustle and bustle of students, teachers and residents filled the air of Hillsborough Street. He wants to see that vibe come back into present day Raleigh and is working to do so by creating a 240-seat casual dining restaurant set to open sometime next year.

“The idea is to celebrate the energy and vibrancy that the street once had [that] has been lost,” Bryant said.

Bryant and our Raleigh moving company are not the only ones wishing to get back once was for Hillsborough Street. The City of Raleigh, N.C. State University and local developers have invested millions of dollars over the past five years to give Hillsborough Street the facelift it needs to be great again.

Bryant believes opening a restaurant in the old Varsity Theater may be just the thing Hillsborough Street needs to bring back the masses. The un-named restaurant will likely feature an open-kitchen, bar and plenty of seating including two outdoor patios.

If you have recently moved to Raleigh, local Raleigh movers suggest brushing up on the interesting history of Raleigh and Hillsborough Street to make your first dining experience in this new restaurant that much more memorable!

All My Sons Moving & Storage local Raleigh movers are thrilled to hear that WRAL and the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association will be bringing the annual Raleigh Christmas Parade to town on November 21! WRAL, a local Raleigh television station, is the sponsor of the event and the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association is presenting it.

The Christmas parade will begin at 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Hillsborough Street and St. Mary’s Street, where it will then make its way to the state’s capitol by turning right onto Salisbury Street, left onto Morgan Street, right onto Fayetteville Street and end at Lenoir Street. During the approximate 2 and half hour parade, families can enjoy an array of entertainment including local marching bands, festive floats, music, dancing and an appearance made by Santa Claus himself!

All My Sons Moving and Storage of Raleigh suggests getting to a spot along the parade route early to score great seats and get settled in before the fun begins.

Raleigh offers plenty of things to do for those who have just used their Raleigh movers to relocate to a new home, but perhaps one of the most unique is the tractor pull.

Essentially a bunch of souped-up tractors from off the farm, the tractors have been rebuilt to have much more horse power than normal tractors. For each competition, each tractor competing has to pull a sled that has thousands of pounds of dead weight on it. The tractor then powers forward until all of the weight is transferred to the rig and he is forced to stop cold.

For how much work goes into the competition, it is remarkably brief. In total, a run usually lasts about 12-15 seconds and they only end up going about 300 feet. Regardless, this competition continues to be a favorite amongst Raleigh locals. Because of this very reason, chances are that your Raleigh moving company will recommend this as the perfect activity to do while you are waiting for them to finish unloading all of your family’s belongings from their moving truck.

This is the perfect time to have relocated to Raleigh as well – the North Carolina State Fair is in town! With the state fair comes a different tractor pull every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Before you know it, you may find yourself joining the ranks of locals and behind of the wheel of your own tractor in the competition.

Have you ever tried a deep-fried Snickers? How about a deep-fried HoHo? Or a Krispy Kreme cheeseburger? Well, now that you have used Raleigh movers to get settled into your new house, you get to try all of these delicious treats and more!

At the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, it is a tradition to see who can come up with the best deep-fried concoction. Since this year is no different, small vendors are busy doing their best to come up with the most unusual and tasty fried creation.

Many Raleigh businesses compete to see who can come up with the next local favorite fried food because of the sales that come along with it. For example, after the Ragin’ Cajun booth served up their own version of a deep-fried bananas foster, their sales went up 20%. For many, the fried fare at the North Carolina State Fair is enough to make them pack up all their belongings and send them on their way to Raleigh, with the help from local movers. After all, who wouldn’t want to move to deep-fried heaven?

Curious as to what other fried food will be available at the fair this year? Well, S2 Concessions will now be selling deep-fried peanut butter pickles, which is a giant pickle cut in half, smothered in peanut butter, dipped in batter and fried. They will also have deep-fried bacon-wrapped Tootsie Rolls, which is a giant Tootsie Roll, cut in half, wrapped in bacon, dipped in batter and fried.

Any of these delicious fried treats can be tried at the North Carolina State Fair at the Raleigh fairgrounds from October 15 to 25.
