Only one week after the finale, Pho Nomenal Dumplings will proudly bring their Asian cuisine to downtown Cary, a suburb of Raleigh, for the final Chatham Street Chowdown of the year on Sunday, October 4 from noon to 4:30 p.m.

The official food lineup will feature food trucks such as American Meltdown. Baguettaboutit, Banh Mi Ha Long, Barone Meatball Co., Baton Rouge Cuisine, Belgian Waffle Crafters, Bull City Street Food, D’Burritos, Dusty Donuts, Flattz Signature Flat Breads, JAM Soft Service Ice Cream, Kocina, La Farm Bakery Bread Truck, Oak City Fish & Chips, Parlez-Vous Crepe, Philly’s Cheesesteaks, Pie Pushers, Stuft, The Humble Pig and Ty’s All Natural.

While the food truck has experienced great success thus far, local Raleigh moving companies know that they are no stranger to having their fair share of issues in the beginning. One friend of the original founders of the Pho Nomenal Dumplings truck, Becca Ruffin, explains that they all handled any issues that came their way with ease. She shares that “It wasn’t the first time this truck has had serious problems. We’re all problem solvers. We weren’t going to freak out about it.”

Needless to say, everyone from locals, new residents, to Raleigh movers are excited to finally try the delicious food that the famed truck has to offer.

Running for the 10th year in a row, SPARKcon is a four-day festival in downtown Raleigh that features everything from inventors, artists, comedy, and musicians. Expected to attract an upwards of 58,000 attendees, this is the event to attend if you are looking for a break from unpacking all of your belongings that your Raleigh movers have unloaded for you.

One of the people in charge of organizing SPARKcon, Erin Lavin, explains the event as “hard to describe, but it’s about expressing yourself and using your imagination. That’s why we like it, because it covers so many different things.”

Experimenting in the arts is not the only attraction at SPARKcon – there is also a slew of hi-tech experiences for kids of all ages to engage in and learn from. Most Raleigh wedding venues have a high and low season, the high season tends to be around fall and spring, whereas the winter months or summer in southern states are the low season. Peak wedding season in Raleigh is September and it is just around the corner. If you are attending a wedding or tying the knot at a local wedding venue, there will be gift giving. Raleigh movers know that you are going to need to show your gratitude this season, whether it is thanking a bridesmaid or groom for participating in your special day or wishing the happy couple a happy marriage with a symbolic gift. Gift giving ideas be tricky so here are some of All My Sons, Raleigh mover’s gift ideas that are sure to express your appreciation.

-Customize a batch of vintage-esque coasters with pictures from your Raleigh hometown landmarks and the wedding.

-For Raleigh bridesmaids gifts embroider satin robes with names and the wedding date for each of the girls.

-A gift for anyone, you can buy ceramic plates from the dollar store and write a thank you note or a sweet memory or a relevant quote on it with a sharpie, bake it in the oven and it will be permanent.

-All My Sons recommend an at home spa kit gift. Everyone can use a little T.L.C.

-For grooms men Local Raleigh movers think giving a bar in a jar, a small jar with miniature bottles of alcohol, is a creative and fun way to say thank you to the boys for being there on a special day.

Raleigh city officials have reported that they have received more than 30 complaints in the months of June and July regarding crowded sidewalks downtown and too much late night noise. They have proposed two solutions to dampen some of the noise in downtown Raleigh, and they are set to take effect Friday August 14, 2015.

Starting on the 14th, downtown Raleigh visitors will no longer be allowed to turn left onto side streets from Fayetteville Street or Glenwood Avenue at certain intersections between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Signs have already been installed to alert drivers of the changes, so keep an eye out for them if you are moving to Raleigh. Officials have announced that the ban is an effort to keep the side streets of downtown clear for emergency vehicles and cut down late night noise, as to not disturb downtown residents. If you are moving to downtown Raleigh, local moving companies are sure that the new ordinances will help to assuage any reservations you have about the area being quiet at night.

Raleigh officials have also implemented a curfew on outdoor dining in downtown. The number of seats a Raleigh restaurant or bar can have on the sidewalk will be determined by their indoor seating capacity. All downtown Raleigh patrons will have to be inside by midnight, Sundays through Thursdays. For Friday and Saturday nights, patrons will have to be inside by 1 a.m. However, the Raleigh restaurants will still remain open until 2 a.m.

Raleigh city officials are giving these changes a trial period to see if these changes help the noise situation downtown. The dining curfew is temporary and will be revisited in three months’ time and the traffic changes will be assessed over a six month period.

Getting a thorough home inspection is a critical step in the Raleigh home buying process. It is necessary to have your potential Raleigh home inspected to make sure that your new home is a sound investment and a safe place to live. Many home buyers do not know what it means to get an inspection, what fully happens during an inspection, or what they should be looking for to get the most out of an inspection. Local Raleigh movers have done some research and found out what inspectors say are the five biggest mistakes that home buyers make during an inspection.

1. Inspectors say that a lot of home owners neglect to get a new construction inspected, since they presumed that the home has already passed all of the codes and ordinances that it should in order to be sold.

2. Opting out for a cheaper or recommended inspector instead of researching Raleigh inspectors themselves. Much like choosing a local Raleigh mover, home buyers should choose an inspector who is competent, thorough, and trustworthy. Ask for licensing, professional affiliations, and credentials.

3. Not going along on the inspection. Written reports from inspectors won’t give Raleigh homebuyers as clear of a picture as it would if they had been present during the inspection themselves. Minor problems can be over-emphasized and big problems can go unnoticed.

4. Ignoring the inspector’s recommendations and not following up. Before the Raleigh home reaches a closing date, homebuyers won’t follow up on the issues discovered in the inspection when they should acquire several estimates for fixing the issues, before their closing date.

5. Raleigh moving companies want new residents to be aware of the fact that no matter how much experience an inspector has, they cannot predict the future. It is important to follow up with experts related to a specific system.

It’s happened to all of us. An unexpected family member, neighbor or friend calls to say they are dropping by and your home looks like a tornado has ripped through….twice! The few minutes you have before your guest arrives are crucial, so make sure you use these quick tricks from Raleigh movers to make your new Raleigh home seem spotless in no time flat.

  1. Use the Organized Stash Method – Instead of running around stashing items in random places, Raleigh movers suggest stashing things in closets or baskets according to room. This will save you time and energy in the end, when you are finally prepared to put everything back properly.
  2. Focus on Your Tabletops, Toilets and Television (the three T’s) – These are the things that scream cleanliness (or dirtiness) the most. Quickly wipe your dining room table, kitchen counters and coffee table free of any dust, dirt or crumbs. Dust your television, as it is a main focal point if you end up sitting in the living room with your guest. Scrub and wipe down your toilets for self-explanatory reasons. Covering the cleanliness of the three T’s will have your guest happy that they stopped by to see you after your move to Raleigh.
  3. Get Rid of the Pet Hair – Regardless of how clean your floors are, if your sofa is covered in dog or cat hair it’s going to be a major eyesore for your guest. Not to mention, your furniture could smell like pet dander without you even realizing it. Raleigh movers suggest that you keep a lint roller nearby to quickly de-hair your couch and cover up odor with a fabric refresher spray.
