American Mortgage Conference This Week in Raleigh
Currently underway, the American Mortgage Conference is taking place in Raleigh this week. Among issues discussed thus far at the conference, one strikes particular interest that the Raleigh movers wanted to share with our friends! According to industry experts, now is the time to refinance your home mortgage. The average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage is about 4.12 percent–the lowest it has been in decades.
Among the credible speakers at this week’s conference, lending honchos from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae spoke yesterday. There are several things to consider before refinancing–such as what term length you’d like, what interest rate you’d like to get down to, and how it will affect your day to day finances. Knowledge is power, so ask away!
Protect Yourself from Hurricane Irene
Here at the Raleigh movers we are taking Hurricane Irene very seriously, and we hope that you are too. Despite the fact that Irene has been downgraded to a category two storm does not mean that we should all rest on our laurels. For the protection of our loved ones, we must all make sure we’ve prepared for what could still do damage to the Raleigh area and the rest of the Atlantic coast.
With winds still estimated at 105mph, the recently downgraded storm could certainly pick up steam again as it hurls through the Atlantic Ocean. The storm is expected to hit the North Carolina area over the weekend, most likely Saturday.
Hopefully you’ve stocked up on batteries, canned foods, bottled water, and first aid kits. Portable fans are also a great investment to keep around for hurricane season. Windows should be boarded if you don’t have hurricane shutters, and utilize your garage to the best of your ability to protect automobiles and bicycles.
Also, if power does in fact go out, it wouldn’t hurt to have puzzles or board games readily available.
We wish the best for you and your loved ones. May we all weather the storm here in Raleigh!
Raleigh Parade of Homes
This fall, Raleigh will celebrate the 46th Annual Parade of Homes by showcasing over 200 homes throughout Raleigh-Wake County. The tour is free, and it will focus on home trends specific to the Research Triangle Area. In keeping with the technological times, the Parade of Homes has created a smart phone app to help you access the Parade as you go.
Here at the Raleigh movers, we are always excited by the home developments and innovations that are showcased at the Annual Parade of Homes. The awards ceremony will take place prior to the open house, so you’ll be able to see what ranks as gold, silver, and bronze among all of the impressive new homes.
The price range of the homes on parade is quite broad, from $156,700-$2.4 million, and range in type from single family homes to condos.

Raleigh Mover Review
Hiring movers in Raleigh can be a scary move for people with little to no experience in scheduling a relocation service provider to transition you into your new home. Many people who are moving find that reading moving reviews helps make hiring decisions easier. The following is a real review from a satisfied customer:
“After shopping around with various moving companies, I decided to utilize All My Sons Movers. I was impressed with their attention to detail, accuracy in estimation, and professionalism among their various staff members. I was even more impressed with the actual movers. These guys were quick, effective, efficient, and on the money! I was impressed, which takes a lot. They even honored a few last minute, short-term requests. That’s great service.” -Chris H.

Tackling Your Move, And Other Not-So-Regular Tasks
On a normal day, each of us has a routine of tasks which are executed so frequently that we could probably complete them in our sleep. Not every day is a “normal” day though, so straying from your daily routine to handle sporadic extra tasks is actually very recurrent –it is the extra tasks themselves which are not. Random tasks on your to-do list can be a bit intimidating. Unlike routine tasks such as waking up or brushing your teeth, odd-ball to-do items aren’t repeated often enough to be a part of your natural rhythm. As tempting as it may be to put-off extracurricular duties to avoid possible failure or to evade tediousness, procrastination only hurts you in the long run. As a professional relocation coordinator, your professional Raleigh mover here knows how tiresome of an extra task moving can be. In fact, if you are moving in the Raleigh area soon, your to-do list is likely bombarded with a bunch of extra tasks which you’re not used to seeing on your daily routine. As they are a part of your mover’s daily routine, I can assure you that your move can be successfully completed quite easily if you plan effectively; your Raleigh relocation experts are here to help.
