Raleigh Real Estate Still on the Rise

For the fifth month in a row, real estate sales in the Raleigh area surpassed those in 2010. The greater Triangle area, which encompasses 16 counties, saw positive developments in real estate sales and transactions.

In turn, new listings in the area were on the decrease, which is a great sign for the stability of the market. With less to be sold, the supply decreases—where the demand then increases. Also good news for the real estate market and local economy? The area ranks exceptionally well for affordability.

The Raleigh movers hope that the market continues to strengthen and that the local economy continues on the positive slope as well. Here’s to a promising 2012 in Raleigh!

New Raleigh Real Estate Project

Downtown Raleigh will be getting a new shared work space, thanks to a Raleigh real estate developer. 3,000 square feet on Wilmington Street will act as a home base consisting of nine separate office suites priced under $700 each a month and offering a downtown address for budding entrepreneurs.

Included in the price? Internet, fax, and shared kitchen, lobby, shower and bike room areas.

The shared space also allows for close knit networking and referrals. The Raleigh movers think the Wilmoore Lofts will be a sure hit for the forward-thinking Raleigh area.

Solar Energy Gains Momentum in Raleigh

The solar power industry is flourishing in North Carolina, where companies such as O2 Energies are opening solar plants in rural areas such as Mt. Airy and Newland. These two plants alone generate over 3 million kw hours of electricity annually. O2 Energies is one of almost a dozen companies setting up solar powered shop in North Carolina.

Raleigh and surrounding areas are focused on solar energy and renewable resources. Raleigh based Strata Solar has seen costs become much more consumer friendly, with solar panels now reduced by about 75% of their price in the last few years alone.

With educational facilities and scientific discovery groups, the Raleigh and Research Triangle area are a likely region to adopt solar energy with open arms. Now, with political bills in line to help increase solar energy in North Carolina, the state seems sold on the energy conserving method.

The Raleigh movers proudly report that if solar energy continues to gain momentum, there will be several job opportunities and developing businesses in the Raleigh area, and the rest of the state, over the next few years.

Raleigh Ranks as Best City in the US

Business Week’s ranking of U.S cities for the top areas of school performance, green space, and cultural diversity & amenities has ranked Raleigh, N.C. as number one! The Raleigh movers absolutely agree. And like many other Raleigh residents, we are proud that a national publication has tipped off their hats to us as a great place to live, work and play.

With an array of entertainment options–movies, sports, concerts and opera, Raleigh is a great city to grow up in, be a young professional in, and also raise a family in. With a reasonable population of 400,000, it’s a city that is neither too big nor too small. The charm in Raleigh is that it focuses on being better, not bigger.

Tech Talent is Always Moving to Morrisville, NC

Morrisville North Carolina goes against the grain when it comes to city development; rather than moving to the local area after the city’s population grew to a favorable size, many businesses set up shop in Morrisville beforehand, which many residents benefit off of. Companies such as Cisco, IBM and Lenovo are among the big names which have headquarters in Morrisville. Well-known for its higher-than-average concentration of scientists, engineers and computer technicians, Morrisville businesses such as these have truly set the stage for a techy population. In fact, high-tech employment opportunity has drawn talent from all over the globe to move to Morrisville! The diversity among Morrisville’s population probably inspired events such as the “Taste of Morrisville” festival which celebrates the many cultural dishes of local area eateries.

Raleigh Parade of Homes

This fall, Raleigh will celebrate the 46th Annual Parade of Homes by showcasing over 200 homes throughout Raleigh-Wake County. The tour is free, and it will focus on home trends specific to the Research Triangle Area. In keeping with the technological times, the Parade of Homes has created a smart phone app to help you access the Parade as you go.

Here at the Raleigh movers, we are always excited by the home developments and innovations that are showcased at the Annual Parade of Homes. The awards ceremony will take place prior to the open house, so you’ll be able to see what ranks as gold, silver, and bronze among all of the impressive new homes.

The price range of the homes on parade is quite broad, from $156,700-$2.4 million, and range in type from single family homes to condos.

Raleigh Named a Top 10 Place to Live in 2011

This year’s “Top 10 Places to Live for 2011″ list from RelocateAmerica has been released, and Raleigh is nestled prominently at position #4, just behind Austin, Texas; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Boulder, Colorado. The list examines a variety of factors pertaining to an area to determine what city in the United States is the best to live in. Such areas as real estate & housing, local economy, recreation, and safety.

Of course, citizen opinions were taken into account as well, as the surveyors too to the streets to ask locals what they thought and what they liked/disliked. The Raleigh movers feel that we should have easily placed at #1! But we aren’t complaining, because not only are we in the Top 10, we are also in the Top 5! And that’s certainly something to be proud of.

If you are contemplating a relocation to Raleigh, be sure to check out RelocateAmerica’s reasoning for why were a great place to live, and don’t forget to contact All My Sons of Raleigh for the best moving rates and specials.
